Are you a medical provider (MD, NP, PA, RN, EMT, P-EMT) who has been interested in working in global health, or volunteering internationally, but aren’t sure where to start? The Introduction to Humanitarian Aid for Medical Providers is a great foundational course to help providers understand the basics of providing medical care internationally. This course will cover basic information around licensing, malpractice, scope of practice, legal considerations (documentation, HIPAA, etc.), and travel, as well as ethical considerations such as “do no harm”. It will also cover basics on low resource medical care and considerations. This course will give providers a basic understanding of how they can volunteer their services internationally, as well as ensure they have a solid understanding of the context and implications of their work.
